"All of Dublin and More"
We really enjoyed our guide Bartle D'Arcy who showed us everything on our list and more with humor and character. The highlights included a visit to a real Irish Pub and the general Post Office where Bartle related to us the story of the rising in 1916 and the subsequent emergence of a very tall "Cuban" Eamon De Valera. I could not have been more satisfied with the private tour.
"More than all of Ireland!"
Garvan was an amazing tour guide! We went from knowing nothing about Ireland to feeling like we took an entire college course in just 5 hours! He customized the program to include things he knew would specifically interest us. I will highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Dublin.
"Five Hour Walking Tour"
We set this tour up before we left (which I recommend you do) and were not disappointed. Our guide Cathal walked us through side streets, avenues, streets, tourist spots. From a quick stop at the National Museum to the tourist attraction of Molly Malone and so much more. It really is worth the expense to have your very own tour guide. In the time it would have taken us to even find two or three of the statues, monuments, churches etc... he showed us twice as many in half the time and told us many stories and facts that we might not have otherwise learned. He was also not wed to any particular walk. So when we would say we had seen or done something, he would adjust his walking plan. We highly recommend this tour company.
"Dublin and Irish History thru the Eyes of a Dubliner"
Garvan is a true Irish treasure. His genuine passion for his country and its people comes through his insightful stories of history, struggle, emigration and resurgence. Funny, informed and personable, Garvan felt more like an old friend than a guide. Our 5 hours seemed to pass in a flash. Don't miss out on Garvan's Ireland!
"Great Tour and Phenomenal Reference on Irish History"
Bartle led us through all the major places to be seen and provided a great deal of background on each. As importantly, Bartle is steeped in Irish history and culture. He weaves this knowledge into the tour (especially if you are curious enough to ask) and provides great context on how Ireland's history resonates through the sites and into modern Ireland. Touring with Bartle is a great way to truly understand Ireland. Wish we had more time with him.
Had a terrific 5 hour tour of Dublin with Carl. Highly recommend it. He’s extremely knowledgeable, engaging and passionate about Ireland. Very professional and prompt. It was my first trip and I learned so much. No doubt it will inspire me to dig deeper into my Irish roots.
"Company event from Switzerland!"
Thank you Matthew it was amazing!!! Best city tour ever! Dublins history including pints and whiskey - what else?
"Best Guide You Could Ask For"
Maitiu led my family and I on a fantastic walking tour of Dublin. His tour not only helped us get our bearings in the city, but he provided an engaging history of each location with details and nuances that we'd never have found in a book. Every street had a story, and quite often a song (sometimes in Gaelic)! His tour was a highlight of our Ireland trip, and really allowed us to start to get to know and feel comfortable in the city (mere hours after we had landed). You will not be disappointed!
"Excellent Private Tour of Dublin"
Carl was our guide for a five hour private tour of Dublin. He was personable and knowledgeable, and did a great job showing us the city. He tailored our destinations to our interests, but made sure we saw the most important highlights of the city. He also offered some terrific suggestions for pubs and places to eat, and the information he gave us served us very well for the rest of our stay in Dublin. Carl got us off to a great start in seeing the city, and we highly recommend a Dublin Private Tour as a wonderful way to see the city whether you only have one day, or will be staying for a longer visit.
"Fun Craic in the Local Pubs!"
Maitiú was our pub guide - he was not only knowledgeable but lots of fun and very talented ! Sang a few Irish traditional songs with us and taught us his Irish walk ! He walked us to five awesome pubs - 3 of which we would never have found - it was a treat to experience the pubs outside of the tourist areas. He has a wonderful personality and a great conversationalist. There were four of us and he made us all feel very comfortable - I would highly receommend Maitu if you want to experience the pubs where the locals have their pints!
Garvan is quite a character. He is not what you normally expect from a private guide in that he spends a great of the time explaining the character of the Irish people and how it was formed by the hundreds of years of subjugation. Quite fascinating.
We had a wonderful walking tour with Garvan, he had so much to share that we could have probably done a week long tour and he would not have run out of information! My husband and I love history, but we had our two teenage granddaughters with us and were worried that they might get bored. Far from it, they talked about Garvan and his stories for the rest of the trip. This young man really tailors his tours to his clients. This is not a canned spiel of tourist information, this journey evolves as you ask questions. What a fine sense of humor and great spirit. Plus, he regaled us with a rousing version of Molly Malone, I’m sure a side job singing could be had. Thanks for a wonderful tour, we loved it!
