I grew up just 30 miles from Dublin, in the picturesque countryside of County Meath, where I was raised on a small dairy farm. Surrounded by woods, streams, and wildlife, I developed a deep love for nature and the outdoors—a passion that remains with me to this day.
After completing college, I entered the world of finance, starting in banking and progressing through roles in stockbroking, commodities trading, and mutual funds. For 20 years, I built a career in finance, but my true passion has always been history. As a child, I spent countless hours immersed in ancient maps and history books, driven by an insatiable curiosity to learn about the past.
Today, as a full-time qualified tour guide, I’ve turned that lifelong passion into a career, and I couldn’t be happier. I love sharing Dublin’s rich history with visitors, bringing it to life through engaging storytelling and the occasional reenactment of historical conversations to make the characters and events feel tangible and alive.
As a proud Irishman, conversation comes naturally to me. I enjoy showing visitors the authentic Dublin—the hidden gems away from tourist traps, the proper local pubs, and the stories that only locals know. My goal is to provide an experience that captures the essence of what makes Dublin unique.
In addition to my love for history and guiding, I’m also well-traveled, having lived in London and New York and explored destinations as far-flung as Russia, Mongolia, and the Middle East. These experiences have broadened my perspective and deepened my appreciation for the stories that connect people across cultures.
