Experience the legendary landscape and compelling history of Belfast and Northern Ireland on an exclusive shore excursion.
From ancient myths to modern legends, Northern Ireland fires the imagination. This journey takes you through a thousand years of history — from Finn MacCool and the Titanic to the tragedy of the civil conflict known as “The Troubles” and the region’s otherworldly ancient ruins. All you need is a guide with the right blend of professionalism, passion, charm and knowledge!
Leaving Dublin, you’ll finally hear a clear, balanced account of The Troubles, the conflict that turned Northern Ireland into a war zone from 1968 to 2005. On arrival in Belfast, you’ll visit the Peace Wall and see the striking murals on both sides — some hopeful, some unsettling, all unforgettable. It’s a place that forces you to reflect on the centuries of division that have shaped the island of Ireland’s story.
Belfast has brighter chapters too. It was the only part of Ireland to experience an industrial revolution, and its greatest achievement was the world’s most famous ship. The Titanic Belfast museum is superb — a modern, interactive dive into the story of the ship, the city and the people who built her.
Leaving Belfast behind, we head into a landscape of fantasy and folklore. If you’re interested, we can stop at Game of Thrones filming locations such as the Dark Hedges or Dunluce Castle. If not, we continue straight to the Giant’s Causeway — the highlight of any Giant’s Causeway Tour from Dublin.
Here you can wander among 40,000 hexagonal basalt columns formed by ancient volcanic activity (or, as legend says, by an Irish giant challenging a Scottish rival). Now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Giant’s Causeway ranks among the world’s great natural wonders and is an essential stop for anyone interested in Ireland’s wild places.
After a day filled with remarkable sights and stories, we return to Dublin — a chance to rest, reflect.

Explore the 40,000 plus hexagonal-shaped pillars that were formed by lava millions of years ago or, if you believe local legend, by an Irish giant fighting a Scottish giant 17 centuries ago. A romantic ruin perched dramatically above the coastal cliffs of north County Antrim, Dunluce Castle bears witness to a long and tumultuous history. No wonder it was featured on Game of Thrones. Besides the history, local folklore tells of a banshee and how the castle kitchens fell into the sea one stormy night in 1639.

The most interesting aspect of Belfast is the complicated and fascinating history of The Troubles (1968-2005), which saw neighbouring communities of Nationalists (Irish) and Loyalists (British) face off against each other in near-daily skirmishes. The resolution of this conflict has proven an incredible achievement of diplomacy, patience, tolerance and maturity by the Nobel Peace Prize-winning politicians and the societies themselves. Creative murals provide insights into the inspirations and sentiments of both communities, past and present.
