He is very excited about showing you around this magnificent city and takes particular pleasure in telling you the darker sides of Dublin, including ghost stories and tales of a gory nature. Like all of the guides in Dublin Tour Guide, he is also found of blasting out an old Irish song on the odd occasion.
“I did the “Nearly All” tour of Dublin/5 hour walking tour. Cathal was my guide and he was a fountain of knowledge. Every question I asked, he had an answer for. He gave a brief history of Ireland and tailored the tour to what I liked. Even though I have a history degree I just wanted to see his city. Cathal made it feel like we were old friends talking. The 5 hours go by so fast and you basically feel like you are hanging out with an old friend, there are certain things you just don’t get to, but you still learn a wealth of knowledge.”

“From start to finish Cathal drew is into his love of Ireland with his poetic and dramatic tour of Dublin. He shared the wonderful mysteries, myths and legends of Irish history. We were left the strong sense of what makes Irish people so proud of their country. Cathal gave us great ideas of where to go on our own to further what he taught us. Let me just say … go see the bog people and Kilmainham jail. Thank you Cathal!”

“This was a fantastic tour. Cathal has in-depth knowledge of Irish culture, history and mythology and clearly enjoys sharing it. We are a family of four, kids are 15 and 12. We all thoroughly enjoyed his company and sense of humor. We did this tour on our second day and having more information about Dublin and it’s history, and armed with his tips, we were able to plan out the rest of our stay. Best tour ever!!”
“Our group of 8 businessmen from around Europe were on a very tight time budget. Cathal met us at our hotel on time and then briskly led us for the 3 hours we had available to see and experience some of the most important and interesting sights Dublin has to offer. He didn’t rush us when we wanted to linger a bit and was very knowledgeable about the history of Dublin. He is a very gentle and patient guide and I can attest to his fine singing voice! He got us to our next appointment right on time. As a taster tour, Cathal has definitely whet the appetite of my European colleagues, some of whom I am sure will return to Dublin to enjoy more of it at leisure.”
